Where it began

Dawn trained as a chef, and after years of baking as a hobby and for friends birthdays, she decided to turn her passion for great flavours and sweet treats into a business, opening The Little Teapot tearoom, with her daughter Faye.

The Little Teapot’s name was inspired by the children's rhyme “I’m a little teapot” which being based in an old classroom, seemed very apt.

A building for all

Dawn has a personal connection with The Old Girls’ School, it was her primary school, as well as her Fathers. So when the opportunity arose to save the school in 2013, Dawn and a group of local residents formed the Friends of The Old Girls’ School. The Friends worked with Sherburn-in-Elmet Community Trust and saved the building for the community.

The Little Teapot is proud be apart of and support The Old Girls’ School Community building, if you would like to know more about the community centre click here.
